Professional profile
Business as an integrated system
My name is Vasyl Hrab. I am an entrepreneur and senior executive with more than 20 years of experience building and developing companies, products and business ventures.
I began my professional career in 2002. Since then, I have progressed from analyst and consultant to business owner and executive — not only designing solutions, but also organising their implementation, leading teams and taking responsibility for delivery.
My experience spans Ukraine, Czechia and Canada, as well as taking products to markets across Europe, the former CIS and Asia. I have built companies and brands from the ground up and managed marketing, sales, finance, construction and property development projects, manufacturing and operations.
I have spent a significant part of my career in Czechia as an entrepreneur, founding businesses independently or developing them with partners as a co-founder.
My core strength is the ability to see a business as an integrated system, identify the critical issues quickly and translate decisions into specific actions and measurable results.
2001–2008
Education, analysis and business consulting
In 2002, while in my second year at Kyiv National Economic University, I joined a consulting agency specialising in market analysis, marketing research and end-to-end business plan development.
My formal education therefore ran alongside practical work from the outset: academic knowledge was immediately applied and tested on real business assignments.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Organisational Management, together with additional qualifications in teaching economics and organisational psychology. I then completed a master’s degree in Small Business and continued with postgraduate studies in Economics, Organisation and Enterprise Management. My research focused on managing organisational change in an industrial company.
From 2007 to 2008, I taught Management at Kyiv National Economic University, combining academic theory with hands-on experience in business planning and consulting. My bachelor’s and master’s degrees have been formally recognised in Czechia.
Later, in Czechia, I completed an accredited professional retraining programme in accounting and obtained a professional qualification certificate confirming that I am qualified to work as an accountant in Czechia.
I also graduated from the Czech Beer Academy, passed professional examinations in brewing and malting and received an accredited certificate as a qualified brewing and malting production specialist.
These qualifications complement my practical experience in financial management and in building my own beer brand — areas described below.
2008–2015
My first business ventures in Czechia
In 2008, I moved from Kyiv to Prague and began building my professional life in a new country.
The first business I founded in Czechia was a construction company initially specialising in tiling and finishing work using natural stone and granite.
The company later expanded into comprehensive premium renovation and construction work for owners of villas, private houses and apartments. I was responsible for the full cycle: business development, budgets and cost estimates, supplier and subcontractor selection, work organisation, client communication and control of timelines, budget and quality.
Many of our clients were successful entrepreneurs and investors. By delivering their construction projects, I earned their trust and built a strong business network. A number of them arrived in Czechia with capital but were unsure where to invest, what business to establish or how to organise a launch in a new country.
These recurring client needs led naturally to the creation of 4P in 2011, a full-service marketing and consulting agency that I founded and managed. We conducted market research, prepared business plans and feasibility studies — including for investment and bank financing — evaluated investment projects and developed business models, brands, marketing strategies and franchise concepts.
We developed and implemented hundreds of solutions across dozens of projects.
A dedicated practice focused on the marketing and commercial management of property development projects — from site selection and viability assessment to project concept development and market launch.
One case involved creating a new vodka brand from the ground up and preparing it for launch in the Czech market. We developed a professional business plan designed in part to secure external investment and financing. The project reached the final stage of negotiations and contract preparation with a retail chain.
For another project, we developed the business plan and feasibility study for a sports hall and fitness centre, which was subsequently constructed by our building division. In this case, the business model moved from financial projections to a completed facility.
Within 4P, I also created and launched the Czech beer brand MAGISTR from scratch. I led the entire business development cycle — product creation, positioning, trade mark registration, food and beverage certification, production, team building, marketing, sales, export logistics and international promotion.
The brand was presented at international trade fairs in the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Hungary, China, Greece and other countries. The products received seven top quality awards, and I created four franchise models to support the brand’s continued development.
I also developed and first implemented my own business model based on what is now widely known as contract or ‘gypsy’ brewing: beer is produced at partner breweries and sold under an independent brand without owning a brewery.
2015–2021
Construction, property development and financial management
At the next stage, a partner and I combined our expertise to establish a broad-scope construction company focused on general contracting for major developers, public tenders and government contracts.
I was responsible for winning contracts, budgets and cost estimates, tenders, supplier and subcontractor selection, permitting documentation, the organisation of construction and renovation works, and control of timelines, budget and quality.
While working on my own construction projects, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of finance and investment in property development. I therefore continued my career in the same sector, this time also as an employed executive, and joined the established and successful development company GARTAL.
I started as Finance Manager, overseeing cash flow, financial planning and reporting, coordinating the finance department and accounting, working with banks and investors, supporting credit facilities and project finance, and controlling the economics of development projects. I later progressed to Finance Director and decided to focus fully on property development and construction.
I subsequently headed the construction division within GARTAL. We built the division from the ground up: assembling the team and contractor network, establishing planning and control processes, organising project delivery and taking responsibility for schedules, budgets and quality standards.
At GARTAL, the combined value of the projects under my management at any one time exceeded CZK 300 million.
I then broadened my management perspective while remaining in construction and property development, moving to another company as Sales and Marketing Director. I was responsible for marketing and commercial strategy, sales development, client acquisition and the promotion of construction services, as well as bringing the company’s own development projects to market and managing their sale.
This experience shaped one of my central principles: even a strong strategy has no value until it is translated into specific tasks, resources, accountable owners, control points and measurable outcomes.
Since 2021
Entrepreneurship and experience in Canada
In 2021, I created and began developing VELOURS, a venture combining premium beauty and aesthetic services for consumers with the design, manufacture and sale of professional equipment for cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.
I led the entire business cycle: market analysis, concept and product development, the opening of two beauty salons and a showroom, equipment manufacturing, the financial and operating model, technical documentation, marketing, sales, client training and after-sales service. The business operated in Czechia and expanded into other European markets and Canada.
I began working in Canada in 2023 across several interconnected areas.
One was consultancy on property valuation and investment potential. I assessed location, technical condition, acquisition and renovation costs, timing, risk, market potential and projected returns. This also included property flipping — advising on and managing the acquisition, renovation and subsequent sale of real estate.
Another area developed from professional relationships with investors, real estate agents and property owners. I developed a home-staging service, including the rental and installation of furniture and interior accessories to make properties more attractive to prospective buyers. This experience and network also led to cleaning services, including pre-sale preparation and post-renovation cleaning.
A separate venture was the Canadian start-up BEER PARTY, which I co-founded and led from 2024. It was based on my own know-how for the beer industry: mobile self-contained equipment for dispensing draught beer and a business model covering its manufacture, sale and rental. I was responsible for the business model, financial planning, investment, company registration, licensing, local product adaptation, team building, marketing, sales, logistics, the online platform and payment system, and growth across B2B and B2C markets.
In Canada, I also completed a business incubator programme and gained practical experience in preparing ventures for angel investment and applications for public and private grants.
After two and a half years in Canada, I returned to Czechia, where I continue to run and develop my businesses. Building businesses in two countries that were new to me gave me a practical understanding of launch and relocation — from validating the business model and local regulation to adapting the product, establishing financial and operational systems, building a team and reaching customers.
Today I own three businesses, each at a different stage of development.
Interim90
Why I created Interim90
Over the years, I have worked on both sides of the relationship between business owners and executives.
As an owner and co-founder, I understand the real cost of decisions, risk and invested capital. I know what it means to be responsible for company obligations, salaries, client relationships, cash flow and business viability.
As an appointed executive, I work within the owner’s objectives, agreed authority, budget and a transparent reporting framework.
My strength is not limited to a single function. I connect strategy, marketing, sales, finance, product, processes and the team into one manageable system.
Interim90 is built on this combination of experience.
When a business is launching, relocating, stabilising or growing, I do not act solely as a consultant who delivers a report and recommendations. I enter the assignment as an interim executive: within the agreed authority, I organise implementation, coordinate the team and take responsibility for delivery in my area.
Before work begins, we agree on objectives, timing, authority, responsibilities and measures of success. My approach follows a clear sequence:
diagnosis → solution and action plan → implementation → evaluation of results.
Interim90 combines the analytical depth of business consulting, the practical experience of an entrepreneur and an executive’s accountability for implementation.
The mission of Interim90 is to create lasting business results through temporary professional management: resolving defined challenges, implementing necessary change and building a resilient system that continues to perform after the interim assignment ends.
Interim90 — Interim management. Long-term results.
